This Privacy Policy explains how HTMLify ("we", "us", "our") handles information when you use this website. We've written this to be readable by a person, not just a lawyer.
The Short Version
The HTML code you paste into our tools is never sent to our servers. All processing happens in your browser using JavaScript. We don't see it, we don't store it, and we don't share it. Ever.
What We Collect
Information You Provide
If you contact us via our contact form, we collect the information you submit (name, email address, message). We use this solely to respond to your inquiry. We don't add you to mailing lists or share this information with third parties.
Automatically Collected Information
Like most websites, our web server records basic access logs when you visit pages. These logs include your IP address, browser type, referring URL, and the pages you visited. We use these logs to diagnose technical problems and understand general traffic patterns. Logs are retained for 30 days and then deleted.
Analytics (Optional)
We may use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site — which tools are most popular, how people navigate, and where they come from. Google Analytics uses cookies and collects anonymized usage data. If we use analytics, it is disclosed in our Cookie Policy. You can opt out of Google Analytics using Google's opt-out browser add-on.
What We Do NOT Collect
- The HTML, CSS, or any code you paste into our tools
- Keystrokes or editor input
- Account information (we don't have accounts)
- Payment information (all tools are free)
Cookies
We use minimal cookies — primarily for analytics (if enabled) and for storing your tool preferences (like indent size) in your browser's localStorage. We don't use tracking cookies for advertising. See our Cookie Policy for details.
Third-Party Services
We may use the following third-party services:
- Google Analytics — anonymized site usage statistics
- Google AdSense — contextual advertising (if enabled; governed by Google's Privacy Policy)
Data Retention
Contact form submissions are retained for up to 12 months, then deleted. Server access logs are retained for 30 days. We don't maintain any other databases of user information.
Your Rights
If you are in the EU/EEA, you have rights under GDPR including the right to access, correct, or delete personal data we hold about you. To exercise these rights, contact us. Since we collect very little personal data, most requests can be fulfilled immediately.
Changes to This Policy
If we make significant changes to this Privacy Policy, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
